ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

Summa Cum Laude – this honor is made to seniors with a 7th semester cumulative GPA of 4.40 and above; students wear a gold gown during the graduation ceremony. - automatically reviewed

 

Magna Cum Laude – this honor is made to seniors with a 7th semester cumulative GPA of 4.00 – 4.39; students wear a gold gown during the graduation ceremony. - automatically reviewed

  

California State Seal of Biliteracy – Students who've obtained "Standard Met" on the 11th grade CAASPP English Language Arts and pass all 4 years of ELA with a 2.0 or better. CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION

A CSF member (seal bearer) student has earned at least four semesters of membership based on grades earned in 10th through 12th grade. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. AP CAPSTONE

AP Capstone is a College Board program that equips students with the independent research, collaborative teamwork and communication skills that are increasingly valued by the colleges. ARTISTIC LITERACY CORD

The goal of the Visual and Performing Arts Pathway is to honor and recognize high achieving students in the arts that demonstrate artistic literacy, creativity, and innovative skills. Students who complete the VPA pathway will acquire the necessary skills needed to be successful in any job market. Candidates must have a overall GPA of 2.0 or higher, 3.0 or higher in all arts courses, and completion of 2-3 year of arts education, and show at least 1 advanced level of arts course working including honors, AP, CTE, Dual Enrollment or equivalent, and participate in or display artworks through performance of exhibit. APA CORD

The APA Cord is awarded to APA students who have earned 80+ units of APA coursework and performances over their four years within the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts and must maintain a 3.0 GPA within their APA classes. (Burgundy Cord) - automatically reviewed

 

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Complete Service Cord Application, serve 120 community service hours (Class of 2024)/ 160 for Class of 2025, 2 recommendations relevant to the community service, reflection presentation, and approval after student presentation. (Baby Blue Cord) - must apply (link here)

 

 

CTE PATHWAY RECOGNITION

Career Technical Education is a program of study that involves a multi-year sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers. These students complete the pathway sequence (at least 2 full years) in the required order with a GPA of 3.0. The CTE pathways are: Automotive, Computer Science, Construction, Culinary, Digital Media, Entrepreneurship, Fashion Design, Hot Metals, Interior Design and Metal Machine .(Blue Cord) - automatically reviewed

 

 

STEM CORD
